And as he thought this, the scar on his forehead burned so badly that he clapped his hand to it. “What’s up?” said Hermione, looking alarmed. “Scar,” Harry mumbled. “But it’s nothing … it happens all the time now”. None of the others had noticed a thing.

I’ve had enough, I’ve seen enough, I want it to end, I don’t care anymore!

Hermione + "Oh, Harry"

  • Hermione looked ready to fling her arms around him again, but Harry was glad she held herself in as his head was still very sore. Oh, Harry, we were sure you were going to — Dumbledore was so worried —”
  • “Sirius Black escaped to come after you? Oh, Harry … you’ll have to be really, really careful. Don’t go looking for trouble, Harry —
  • “And it hit — it hit — oh, Harry — it hit the Whomping Willow.”
  • “Harry, please,” said Hermione, her eyes now shining with tears, “please be sensible. Black did a terrible, terrible thing, but d-don’t put yourself in danger, it’s what Black wants. … Oh, Harry, you’d be playing right into Black’s hands if you went looking for him.
  • Oh, Harry! Who sent you that?”
  • Oh Harry, you aren’t going to pay attention to anything that old fraud says?”
  • Oh Harry, isn’t it obvious?” Hermione said despairingly. “He’s jealous!”
  • Oh Harry, this is so stupid —”
  • Oh Harry — I’m sorry — no, of course I don’t — that was a really stupid thing to say —”
  • Oh Harry, don’t you see?” Hermione breathed. “If she could have done one thing to make absolutely sure that every single person in this school will read your interview, it was banning it!”
  • Oh, Harry, it’s you… Good about Ron, isn’t it?” she said blearily. “I’m just so — so — so tired,” she yawned.
  • Hermione glanced over at the back of Cho’s head and sighed. “Oh, Harry,” she said sadly. “Well, I’m sorry, but you were a bit tactless.”
  • There was a shocked silence, then Hermione’s teacup jogged right over the edge of the desk and smashed on the floor. Oh, Harry, you didn’t!” she said.
  • Harry, oh, Harry …”
  • Oh, Harry …” She stared at him, then whispered, “Are you scared?”
  • Hermione turned to Harry with a radiant expression and whispered, “Did you really tell him I’m the best in the year? Oh, Harry!
  • Oh, Harry … not that again …”
  • He held out his mother’s letter. Hermione took it and read it while Harry watched her. When she reached the end of the page she looked up at him.  Oh, Harry …”
  • “You’re not going to go inside? It looks unsafe, it might — oh, Harry, look!”
  • Oh, Harry,” she said wearily, “it’s a pile of utter rubbish. This can’t be what the sign really means. This must just be his weird take on it. What a waste of time.”

Hermione had taken his hand again and was gripping it tightly. He could not look at her, but returned the pressure, now taking deep, sharp gulps of the night air, trying to steady himself, trying to regain control. He should have brought something to give them, and he had not thought of it, and every plant in the graveyard was leafless and frozen. But Hermione raised her wand, moved it in a circle through the air, and a wreath of Christmas roses blossomed before them. Harry caught it and laid it on his parents’ grave.
